Maroma Beach is a long Caribbean shoreline between Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen, best known for pale sand, relatively gentle water on calm days and a concentration of high-end resorts. Where is Maroma Beach?
Maroma lies north of Playa del Carmen and south of Puerto Morelos, along the eastern side of Federal Highway 307. It is not a compact town with a central plaza or public waterfront road. The name is used for a wider coastal area that includes several resorts, private entrances and Marina Maroma.

Getting there from Cancún or Puerto Morelos
From Cancún, a private transfer, rental car or organised excursion is the most straightforward approach. The journey varies with the starting point and traffic, particularly around Cancún Airport and the highway junctions.
From Puerto Morelos, a taxi or transfer is normally simpler than using a colectivo and walking from Highway 307. Maroma can work as a half-day or full-day beach outing from Puerto Morelos, but compare the cost with staying at one of Puerto Morelos’s more accessible public beaches.

Maroma can offer calm, clear swimming when the wind is light, but it remains an open Caribbean beach. Wave height, currents, visibility and depth can change with weather and offshore conditions.
